Growing up we all had hopes and dreams. For Haylie Robinson, she grew up serving her hometown as a fair queen. She experienced her neighboring towns during annual events and this sparked her love and appreciation for festivals and small town America.
She took her love for festivals and background in media production to independently produce a television show to represent small town America that rarely is experienced by the world. In today’s episode of the Passports and Coffee Podcast, we talk about how Haylie turned her dreams into a reality.
Meet Haylie
Before we talk all things Finding Festivals, we first want to introduce you to our travel bestie and on air host of Finding Festivals, Haylie Robinson.
Haylie Robinson, known online as Hayliestory, is the Executive Producer and Host of the travel series Finding Festivals, now broadcasting on PBS affiliate WGTE.
Since 2016, Haylie has invited online viewers to explore her favorite places. Specializing in small to medium size destinations, extended weekends, spirits (mixology, beer, wine, etc.) and festivals, Haylie brings a new perspective to small-town travel.
When she isn’t filming her television show or producing online content, Haylie works full-time as a Digital Media Planner at Cooper Smith Integrated Media Solutions. It’s not all work, Haylie enjoys quiet evenings cuddling with her Caviler King Charles Spaniel and watching various sci-fi and fantasy television shows (i.e. House of Dragon, Stranger Things) with her spouse of six years.
Finding Festivals is a 13-episodic television program that is independently produced and hosted by Haylie Robinson. Haylie’s mission is to unite communities through education and entertainment and she does just that with her infectious on-screen personality.
Finding Festivals share incredible stories from featured festivals located in Ohio and Michigan. Some of the festivals that you can expect to see is the Festival of Sail, Toledo Jeep Fest, the Dublin Irish and the Saginaw Chippewa Annual Pow Wow.
Each episode, Haylie not only shares what each festival is like to attend but she also shares with you local activities in the area the festival is located. Her mission is to bring tourism to small towns all across America and her dream is to one day share festivals with you that extend further than Ohio and Michigan.
Where to Stream Finding Festivals?
So where can you stream finding festivals? Finding Festivals is currently exclusively broadcasting on PBS affiliate WGTE and can be watched here.
Four out of the thirteen episodes have been filmed and are currently available for streaming on PBS.org. The remaining episodes are slated to air in January of 2023 and fall of 2023.
How to Support Finding Festivals?
As we have mentioned, Haylie is an independent producer, which means she is not contracted, committed or fiscally supported by any broadcast, cable or streaming network. Haylie believes in her dream and she hopes her viewers do as well.
Finding Festivals is made possible by supporters like you! With your support, you can help aid the production, post-production, editing, distribution and marking of the final episodes of season 1.
There are many different ways that you can help Haylie produce the final episodes. One way is to simply stream the episodes and leave her feedback on her social channels.
If you are able to support monetarily, you can donate any amount to the project at Filmmakers Collaborative. Any support no matter the size will help Haylie achieve her dreams. This television show is only made possible by generous sponsors and donors like you who want to help a small town girl bring small town America to a screen near you!
